Interim Program Assistant- KO eHealth Services

Temporary 6 month contract


The Interim Program Assistant (PA) provides project assistance (decision support and administrative follow up) to the Director of eHealth Services and the Clinical Services Coordinator in the absence of the Assistance Director of eHealth. The Interim PA oversees and supports work performed by the CTC Supervisor and the Community Education Coordinator.  The Interim PA works with KO eHealth’s Clinical Coordinator and project leads in allied organizations to ensure that existing and new projects adopt interoperable business processes, meet shared objectives and are completed on time and within budget. It is the Interim PA’s responsibility to inform the Director of eHealth about projects or processes that are underperforming, reaching scalability limits or may be difficult to sustain over time.  Finally, the Interim PA manages the development of the KOeTS newsletter and annual report.


  1. Providing the Director of eHealth and Clinical Services Coordinator with project assistance
  2. Overseeing the work of the Community Education Program Coordinator and the CTC Supervisor
  3. Works with the Director and Clinical Coordinator to monitor and evaluate current initiatives
  4. Ensures the collection of routine program monitoring information for the purpose of evaluating current program progress


  1. Must be able to travel to northern communities as required
  2. A degree in public health administration or a post-secondary degree in an appropriate discipline and two years of Health service experience preferred
  3. Excellent analytical and organizational skills and an ability to rapidly respond within a fast-paced environment
  4. Experience using spreadsheets to identify trends, provide comparative frameworks and isolate issues
  5. Knowledge of the Nishnawbe-Aski First Nations, languages and community dynamics
  6. Ability to speak/write Cree, Oji-Cree or Ojibway, an asset
  7. Computer proficiency in Word and Excel
  8. Ability to work independently and as a team member
  9. Familiarity with project management tools and techniques
  10. Total competence in written and oral English
  11. Working knowledge of communication network systems and technologies
