K-Net
“Kuh-Ne-Nah,” meaning “Everyone” in Anishiniimowin (Oji-Cree), reflects our belief that every community deserves reliable access to broadband networks capable of transforming lives and opportunities.
The Kuhkenah Network (K-Net) plays a crucial role in this vision, delivering Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs), telecommunication infrastructure, and application support to First Nation communities across Ontario and other remote regions of Canada. This private telecommunications network empowers communities by supporting the development of online applications that integrate video, voice, and data services, all requiring robust broadband and high-speed connectivity solutions.
In partnership with First Nation communities, we collaborate to build a unique, community-owned network. Each First Nation takes ownership and control of their local network infrastructure, operating as their own Internet Service Provider. This approach ensures that the benefits of technology are fully realized within the community, fostering local economic growth and enhancing Information Technology skills.
K-Net shares its expertise in network management to support the growth of local economies and the development of IT skills that benefit everyone. We believe in the talent, skills, and initiative that exist within our communities, and we are committed to empowering them to harness the full potential of technology.
